thanks Ron my primary interest in this is always the battle of arnhem but after reading the cauldron i thought id find out about Gerald aka zeno im currently working near finchley and might take the time to pay my respects.

Gerald died in Barts Hospital and was buried was buried after a Roman Catholic mass at Finchley cemetery on 28th October 1978.

there is a very good portrait photoghragh of staff seargent val allerton aka zeno in operation market garden published by after the battle.The photogragh shows him just after the escape across the rhine. Does anyone now were he is buried
