No, not this blog’s anniversary. I missed that a couple of days ago. This blog’s first post appeared seven years ago, on December 28th, 2006. That seems like a long time ago.
But that’s nothing in comparison to the fact that my wife Judy and I were married on this date in 1964, some 49 years ago. I remember being just a little nervous that I would botch up my lines, the few there were, but I didn’t. I certainly couldn’t imagine what the future had in store for us — some ups and downs, that’s for sure — more ups than downs, to tell you the truth, a whole lot more — and here we are, almost a half century later, and still each other’s best friend, and more.

Happy Anniversary Steve! You got a head start on me; I’ve been married since 1970. My wife is somewhere in the house, lost among the books and pulps.

Congratulations to you both! (Evidently Jeff, Walker, and I think alike — 1970.)

Further congratulations and good wishes…and I have to let down the side, here, having 1964 as my natal year (and no marriage arrangements made by my lax family) and not even getting around to such as a first-grader in 1970, though I’d already made some impressive female friends by then. (In fact, where is that Inuit woman, then a young girl of course–her mother was not only nice to this goofy mostly white kid from down the block, but also struck me as extremely pretty–I knew in Fairbanks along with her younger brother a year or so newer than we, or West Peabody’s Kim Sweeney, these years?)

Congratulations on your anniversary. Well done. Keep it going. Thumbs up for 2014.

Yes, yes, my best wishes as well. I’ve been divorced now since 1991. I don’t know what sort of an anniversary to celebrate, but I’ll try … maybe read a book or watch a movie. My ex couldn’t distinguish between the Marx Brothers and the Three Stooges!

And Happy New Year!

Congratulations, you are slipping up on the big one I see.
My three together don’t add up to that long even though they were all happy. The congratulations are tinged with a bit of envy, I confess.
Happy New Year and many more of both.
