INTO THE DARKNESS: Investigating Film Noir.
The course runs concurrently with the Turner Classic Movies “Summer of Darkness†programming event—airing 24 hours of films noir every Friday in June and July. This is the deepest catalog of film noir every presented by TCM (and perhaps any network), and provides an unprecedented opportunity for those interested in learning more to watch over 100 classic movies as they investigate “The Case of Film Noir.â€

I’m not likely to sign up for the course, but I’ve found a link to the movie schedule:

I wonder how many of these have never been shown on TCM before?

Whenever I venture into any part of your website, Mike, it’s always way longer than I expected before I find my way out again.

Thirty-six of the TCM films are analyzed in detail on my film history web site:

It’s free and online, too.

Steve,
I think all of these have been on TCM before but maybe two of these. The rest have appeared at the least on the daytime schedule or late at night.
It is a well balanced set of films that seems to focus for the most part on the forties through mid fifties with some exceptions with the earliest the first film in June, M (1931) and the latest THE LONG GOODBYE in July (1973). There are only two I see that I’m not pretty sure they have shown before, RED LIGHT and TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY.
I can see where my Fridays will be spent, assuming I don’t stay home and binge all day Friday for two months.
