Certainly gets the foot tamping along, that is for sure. I just saw the he did a special with Alison Krauss, so maybe he is doing the Willie Nelson duet tour.
Remember reading about Tom Jones a year or two ago, and that he was married to the same woman for over 50 years, which I thought was impressive. Then found out he had be having affairs for years, but still stayed married. So much for being impressed.
The man can still sing though, and Ms Giddens is pretty darn good herself.

I did not know Tom Jones was still active, especially when you realize that he is older than I am, and I have too many 7’s in my age. And that he was still in good voice when this video was made is even better news. (I am also not impressed with the number of affairs he’s had, but since this blog post is about the music, I guess we’ll have to agree to let that slide by.)
As for Ms Giddens, this is her second appearance on this blog:

Hugh (Bertie Wooster) Laurie did a couple of very good New Orleans-style CDs. The first (better one), LET THEM TALK, leads off with “St. James Infirmary” and ends with Sir Tom Jones doing “Baby Please Make a Change.” We saw Laurie in concert and he was terrific.

That’s the same Hugh Laurie who was in HOUSE, is he not? He must be a very talented fellow, though I have to confess I never watched the show, even though it was on for nine years.
