Just got the word from Mark that everything but two images has made the transition over. I think there’s been an upgrade to WordPress in the meantime, as this editing page is different, but I can handle that. Otherwise all of the links, embedded videos and so on are here at the new location safe and sound. Three cheers to Mark and his colleague at school Nate!

Come on!
The suspense is killing me!

It took longer than I expected, but I’m sure glad the wait is over. I’ll start posting again as soon as I can.

This welcome announcement comes on the heels of Official Word that Ohio Schools, Arenas & other mass gartghetjing places are shut down for the next 3-4 weeks.

A little bit of caution goes a long way, so let’s hope that a lot of caution does even better.
PS. Between you and me, Dan, I think your Spell Check really ought to be talked to.

This versions looks wonderful!
Congratulations.
All my links into your site seem to work fine.

This version really shouldn’t look any different than before, but after thinking about what might have happened, it really looks great to me, too.
And thanks for checking the links out. I hadn’t thought of checking those out. I’ve only been looking at what I can see at this end.

Bravo

All congrats should be directed to Mark and Nate. They made my day, that’s for sure.

Well done, and kudos to all!

It looks like there are still some bugs to be worked out. On my laptop, some of the images are showing up, others have disappeared. On my iPhone, I can see them all, so they haven’t vanished completely.
This may have been my doing. The new version of WordPress has abandoned the editor I had been using, and it’s been a steep learning curve trying to figure the new one out. I may have inadvertently done something that is causing the current problem.
Nothing stays the same, alas. All I can say is, Stay Tuned!

Hurray! My favorite website is back as an ongoing enterprise. Congratulations Steve!

But…it looks exactly the same. How do I know I’m in the New! Improved! version?
March 13th, 2020 at 12:21 pm
The New Improved version is supposed to look exactly like the old version, and it did for a while. Now the images are starting to disappear, if they haven’t already. Looks like some more work needs to be done. Not quite finished yet!

Steve — I know you’ll get it. And Spell Check isn’t the problem. I sometimes lapse into my native tongue: gibberish

The Mystery of the missing Mysteryfile has a happy ending. Now Inspector Lewis is working on the Case of the Missing Images 🙂
Good to have you back online, Steve.
March 14th, 2020 at 9:55 am
Thanks, Sai. It is good to be back. As for the missing images, they are right there where they should be. It’s the directions to them through the Internet that are at faulty. That’s where the people with computer expertise are going to have to come in. Not me!

Whaaa! we need pictures…
…but we’ll wait.

I wish I had better news at the moment. What seems to have happened is that somehow during the move over to the new server, the jpg extension got lost on a lot (most) of the images. Mark doesn’t know why, and if he doesn’t, I certainly don’t.
Or even why they showed up for a while, then disappeared. Or why I can see some (but not all) of he missing ones on my iPhone, but not my laptop.
If I had the old WordPress editor, I could go in and type in the missing jpg’s by hand, but I haven’t even figured out how to insert images into my new posts. Something else to work on!
