Coming to Netflix on September 23. When I first heard about the project, I was intrigued. I thought it had possibilities. Now I’m not so sure:

The impression is one of nervy self consciousness, a pass, despite what appears to be a bright and attractive cast.

I’ve been watching other things, I’m afraid, since I don’t recognize any of major players in this. Millie Bobby Brown, for example, was a major player on STRANGER THINGS, a series also on Netflix, and one I’ve never seen.
But bright and attractive? On the basis of the trailer only, I can’t disagree with that.

Sherlock Holmes’s [previously non-existent] younger sister looks for her [also non-existent] missing mother? Almost surely a pass for me.
Yes, she plays Eleven in STRANGER THINGS.

I have high hopes for this one, but my hopes have been dashed before.

In spite of Jeff’s misgivings, which echo my own, I’m sure I’ll give this a try. I’m signed up with Netflix, so it’s not like getting all dressed up for the movies and finding it’s a dud withing the first ten minutes.

Superman, Napoleon Solo, and the Witcher as Sherlock Holmes, I have to check it out if only for that, and Brown is fine in STRANGER THINGS.
Seems to me to be in the mood and tradition of John Kendrick Bangs Mrs. Sherlock Holmes and Raffles Holmes and numerous editions to the family or youthful adventures of Sherlock.
I find it no more offensive than Rex Stout claiming Nero Wolfe is Holmes son by Irene Adler.

We will probably try it too. I was so repulsed by what I found to be the hideously awful Guy Ritchie/Robert Downey, Jr. Holmes that it probably affected my opinion.
