Since late last week we’ve been packing up Jon’s apartment for his forthcoming move to the DC area (Bethesda, MD, to be exact). He’s the recent law school graduate, as you may recall.
It’s taken up way too much time already, it’s been hot, and I’m going to stop fooling myself that I can come home and start blogging until it’s done. The movers are coming Wednesday and he leaves on Thursday. By Friday things may be back to normal.
But don’t expect to see anything new here until then, except maybe comments from me on recent posts. Sorry about that, but I’ll be back when I can!

Steve, you’re entitled to have a life away from this blog.
Take care, and we’ll see you soon.

Calling moving someone a break is a bit like taking time off for surgery and calling it a vacation.
Back in 1997 I moved over 200 boxes if books (not counting furniture and clothes and such). There is still one box each of encyclopedias and sf digests still out in the garage.
At least I think that’s what is in them.

Watch your back!
Looking forward to your safe return….

Good luck to Jon on the move.
Bethesda is a great place. Tell him to check out Uncle Julio’s Rio Grande Cafe.

And you have the perfect setting for a Stephen Greenleaf novel!

Moving is no vacation, I can tell you that. When Judy and I moved to Connecticut back in 1969, we also kind of assumed that someday we might move back to Ann Arbor, where we met and went to the University of Michigan together.
I just don’t see how there’s any way now. Jon has a three room apartment, and we’re beat. If we ever leave CT, the books have gotta stay behind!
