This tune originated in a 1955 B-movie prison flick, UNCHAINED, with Elroy ‘Crazylegs’ Hirsch, Barbara Hale, Chester Morris,Jerry Paris and John Qualen. Faced with a surprise hit on their hands,the producers simply named it after the movie.

“It has since become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, most notably by the Righteous Brothers in 1965. According to the song’s publishing administrator, over 1,500 recordings of “Unchained Melody” have been made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages.”

I think she is an amazing artist, would enjoy seeing her perform live some time. Seems like she turned out fairly normal (for someone kinda famous), considering she hit it big at the age of 13.
Doesn’t seem like she is trying to hit the Billboard top 10 anymore, more content to do the music she wants to do.
