Whoever it is in New England who’s dreaming of a White Christmas, would somebody wake him or her up?
Eight inches of snow on Friday, impossible roads yesterday, and six more inches today. Come on. Enough is enough.
But other than that, and a certain cooped up feeling, all is fine here, and I hope it is where you are, too.
Happy holidays, everyone!

And I thought six inches in Seattle was bad. Happy holidays to you, too, Steve.

Happy Holidays, Steve!
I got out the past two days, and boy, did it feel good. People are digging out here.
Michigan sure seems like The Frozen North.
I’ve got a DVD set on the French Riviera in August. This is definitely the right thing to watch now.

PS
Don’t even think of trying to watch ICE STATION ZEBRA, a spy thriller set in Antarctica. Wait till next July…

During the timeouts while watching the UConn women’s basketball team play in Cancun this afternoon, I switched over to THE PERFECT STORM on HBO. It takes place in late fall, so it’s not a winter storm, but watching those Gloucester fishermen trying to make their way back to safety in their small boat in the Atlantic was way too much for me. There’s no way, I don’t think, that I could ever watch the whole movie.
And remembering ICE STATION ZEBRA gives me the shivers, just thinking about it. July sounds about right!

I’m heading into Maine on Tuesday – thanks for giving me a heads up on what’s in store for me.

Cullen, You might want to call ahead. I think there are parts of New Hampshire still without power from a storm last week, and Maine may be having the same problems.
It doesn’t seem to be nice anywhere in the snow climes, so everybody who’s going to be on the road this week, drive safely!
