There has been some kickback because of the urban setting, but so far with a few caveats (Ritchson is a good actor, let him tackle something other than smug, grumpy, and arch in his reactions). It beats Season 2 by a considerable edge and hopefully won’t come unraveled like Season 3 at the end. Four episodes in and it is holding up well if the kill count is tending toward the absurd.
I have watched only the first episode so far, which is hardly enough to make a solid judgment, but I enjoyed ii quite a bit. I am trying to hold off and not quite too much too fast. Otherwise I agree with you. Season One has been the best. I may even watch it again. (But not until after Season 4.)
I have watched the first three episodes, didn’t know that the fourth episode was available yet. The urban setting matches the book but in the book the story took place in New York City. Smug, grumpy, and arch are the only reactions that Reacher has.
