To a new hosting system, that is. If all goes well, everything on this blog will show up on the new site just as it is right now with (fingers crossed) nothing lost.
I don’t know whether the blog will be visible while the transition is taking place, or if everything will disappear for a while until we’re back again. I suspect the latter, so if that happens, please don’t panic. I’m not sure how long it will take, but everything should reappear as soon as the transfer’s done.

The survival of Mystery*File’s past and its bright future is great news. Here is hoping it all works out.

This will crowd the Primaries & Corona Virus off the front page as the World waits and watches for news….

Here’s hoping!

How soon will we know if it works?

I wish I knew what the time table is, but at the moment the files for the blog and my various websites have been downloaded and stored for safekeeping, and the new hosting site is ready. All we’re waiting for now is for Mark’s friend to do the transfer. Unfortunately most of the comments on this post were made after the download, and probably won’t make the transition.

These days nothing is certain.

Okay, time to organize a Search party .. or maybe a Posse.

Still here, still waiting!

But our links won’t work…since they’re be a new web address.

I Think (but am not absolutely sure) that the delay in doing it right is to be sure all of the links to M*F, both the blog and the primary websites, will work.

UPDATE. Both good news and “be patient” news. The blog is working as is on the new server. What’s left to do is get the database upgraded and moved. The problem at the moment is that the fellow that’s helping Mark do it works for a university that’s making a transition to all online courses for the rest of the semester, and he’s swamped with stuff to do that has to be done yesterday.

Sounds like progress. We’ll check in every day until the transition is complete.
